60%
TAMS grant rate on eligible solar — standard rate, before any enhanced rates

Solar for agriculture
Milking, cooling, drying and washing all run when the sun is up — exactly when your panels generate most. With TAMS behind it, farm solar is one of the soundest investments on the yard.
What the farm grant covers
The Solar Capital Investment Scheme (TAMS) is ring-fenced for solar — a separate ceiling from your other TAMS items.

Farms with big daytime loads and a TAMS grant are often among the fastest paybacks — typically a few years, depending on usage. Panels are warrantied for decades beyond that, so the rest is profit.
In most cases, no. Since 2022, rooftop solar on farm buildings is exempt from planning permission, with limited exceptions. We check this for you at survey.
Yes — those are daytime loads, exactly when panels generate most. We size the system to your parlour, tanks and dryers so you use as much of your own generation as possible.
Yes. The Clean Export Guarantee pays roughly 15–25c per kWh for electricity you export, and the first €400 a year is tax-free. We set up the export registration with your supplier.
